The Window Shopper
Random Gentle Love Dreamer (RGLDf)

Loving, hopeful, open. Likely to carry on an romance from afar. You are The Window Shopper.

You take love as opportunities come, which can lead to a high-anxiety, but high-flying romantic life. You're a genuinely sweet person, not saccharine at all, so it's likely that the relationships you have had and will have will be happy ones. You've had a fair amount of love experience for your age, and there'll be much more to come.

Your exact opposite:
The Stiletto

Deliberate Brutal Sex Master
Part of why we know this is that, of all female types, you are the most prone to sudden, ferocious crushes. Your results indicate that you're especially capable of obsessing over a guy you just met. Obviously, passion like this makes for an intense existence. It can also make for soul-destroying letdowns.

Your ideal match is someone who'll love you back with equal fire, and someone you've grown to love slowly. A self-involved or pessimistic man is especially bad. Though you're drawn to them, avoid artists at all costs.

You scored as C.G. Jung. You are more of a spiritualist than would be immediately apparent. Some of your notions are questioned by the cynical, but deep down you know the human consciousness is more than the flesh and tissue can account for. You tend to take a scientific observationist look on matters the average person wouldn't even begin to analyze. You personally are responsible for most of the ideas that are floating around in modern psychologist's/psychic's paltry little skulls. On the down side, you tend to be associated with that asshole Freud.

I am sick an tired to not feeling like I have meaningful relationship.

Why is it I can express my feelings, but she has a hard time? She didn't used to. But now she does.

I guess the romance is over.

Oh wait, maybe there wasn't any.

I am sick of not being told SHIT.

But, it seems like she can tell everything to her new best friend. Who, will inevitably take advantage of her. Or, maybe it's the other way around?

I'm doing her one last favor... dumping all her shit in her room from my apt.

I'm sick of being the one left in the dark.

Why would I want to be with someone who doesn't even aknowledge that I'm thier fucking gf? What does that say?

She has fallen out of love but doesn't want to admit it. And if she is still in love, how has she shown it? Nothing lately. She seems more dazed and confused.

Figure out what the hell you want.

So, things come to an end.

Wine

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Wine is good.

I love Wine.

I want a Wine celler in my house... when I get one.

I just sent my resume to Dr. Edwards. And the internship hunting begins!

Brett should just learn to be subordinate to me. I am the master. If she pisses me off one more time this week, and it's only Wed, the whip will come out and so will the handcuffs.

WIne is sooooo good.

I love my new computer. It's a MACBOOK. The tech people say they can't put wireless internet on it. I say bullshit. It has wireless, it just needs to recognize the fucking MEREDITH network. Ok. So, I say to them, give me the fucking wireless number so I can put it in my computer. Stop this "We only work with IBM" shit.

Another reason I'm pissed off. Communters can't bring thier lunch to the Dinning hall and EAT it. I got yelled at by Thad who said "we usually ask you to pay". SO I'm practically paying to fucking sit in the fucking dinning hall while eating my OWN food that I made and brought. I said to him " So, on campus students can have the benefits of the CATE center which is mainly for the COMMUNTERS, but we COMMUTERS can't even come into the on campus dinning hall to eat food that we brought ourselves, to actually eat with our FRIENDS?" I sat there thinking what a terrible way to segregate the COMMMUTERS from the ON CAMPUS STUDENTS, especially during the most social time of the day which is LUNCH. I'm sure it's some healthcode thing... but it's BULLSHIT!. Keisha ran into the same thing. Poor Keisha.

Brett was actually good on Monday. She actually brought my movies back to ME, drove ME back from Cassie's house from her cookout, and actually bought ME a lollypop from the bookstore on Tuesday. But, we all know what's good must come to an end. And it did. And what, it's Wed? Yup. I am proud of her for being cast as the main character in TOTTY. Which will be "on" at the end of Sept.

Wine is some good shit.

Week of July 24-30

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Well folks, I'm back in the States. I had a wonderful time on my Study Abroad trip. Here are the last few events that occured during the last two weeks of my trip!

Monday- I treated myself to the English version of Harry Potter. I bought the entire set
(except for the 7th book cause it won't be out till 7/7/07). I took the rest of the day to reasearch for my Parliament presentation on the Enlargement of the European Union.

Tuesday- Same thing.

Wed- Went to St. Pauls for the tour! Did more research... and studied for our Parliament Exam.

Thursday- Had our Parliament exam. Exams are never fun. After, Brett and I went to The Muffin Man Tea Room for what else... TEA! Both of us ordered the Devon Cream Tea which came with freshly made scones, cream, and jam. That afternoon we headed to Harrod's. We ended up eating dinner in the food hall. I beleive we split a BBQ rib platter. Yummy stuff. AH! When we came back for the night, and when we were walking through the garden, we found Poppy, the Maria Assumpta Cat, who had a field mouse in her mouth!! I chased her down and she let go of the mouse. I scooped up the mouse in my hands and let it rest. About five minutes went by, and it regained conciousness. Brett tried to feed it. When she did it ran away. I was just happy to see it alive.

Friday- Brett, Ann, Amber, and I went to the Globe to see Corilanos. We stood as groudlings for three and a half hours. "Jeffrey" from Fresh Prince of Bell Air was in it!

Saturday- Our group went to Bath. We visited the Roman Baths (I actually drank from the spring for 50P. It's not the best tasting water, but it's good for you.), the Jane Austin museum, ate lunch at the Rat and Parrot, and went to John Rose and Betty Webb's flat where all of us had strawberries and cream with tea. The flat was very ecclectic, full of object's from thier travels. Very interesting to look at. They also had a lovely patio.

Sunday- Spent the day getting ready to leave for our big excursion to Edinburgh, Scotland.

............. Last Week...............

Monday- Our first stop, YORK! It took a long time to get there. When we did I felf like a zombie. Anyway, Brett and I indulged ourselves in Indian food for dinner that night. Then met the rest of the group at Minster Church for our own Ghost tour guided by Maureen and Rosa. We stayed at the York University dorms. The next day, Tuesday, Brett and I got up early to hit the town. We browsed the stores including the Beatrix Potter store, and a very cool knife and sword place. I bought a few souvenirs. We met up with the rest of the group at Clifford's Tower to depart York for Durham.

Tuesday- On our way to Durham, Sid, our coach driver, took us through the industrial district of England. An example of what would be manufactured is cutlery. We then stopped at Beamish. Beamish is was a small mining town that is now a historical establishment. The town has the original transportation trollies which we got to ride in, a tiny candy factory, a farm, and of course a mine shaft. I had the pleasure of petting a horse, while Brett fed a pony. After Beamish, we headed to Durham, which is a university town. We breifly viewed the inside of Durham Cathedral. We took a hour walk around the town, and down by the river where you could get a magnificent view of the Cathedral. We stayed at the University of Durham, which was an actual castle! That night, Brett, Maureen, Rosa and I went to the University undercroft. Even later that night Rosa, Brett, and I went out and explored the town and ended up at the Hog's Head bar. It happend to be open mic night, so we got our fill of music and a crowed of young folk. To get back into the University, we had to use the "little door".

Wed- We left Durham early, and headed to Alwyck Castle! This was where they filmed part of the first Harry Potter movie. We took a brief tour, I took pictures of the "flying lesson" area, and the live owls they had on diplay. They also had a "Honeydukes" sweet shop, where I purchased gummy bears and gobstoppers. I learned that there is a family living in the castle, and thier surname is Percy! After Alwyck, we went to Seahouses. Seahouses is a seaside town ( which was very rainy, windy, and cold). We ate fish and chips for lunch. Next stop was Lindsfarn. It was a tidal island which was home to a Priory. We visited the Priory museum and the church. Finally, we were on our way to Edinburgh, Scotland!

Thursday- Our first day in Scotland! I loved every minute of it! The first thing we did was go to Edinburgh Castle. I loved seeing men in kilts. I just had to say that. Ok, the Castle was very steep which gave a great view of the city. At the castle, most of us stopped off at the wool mill and searched for our family plaids (tartans). Well, those of us who had some form of Scottish decent. Brett and I walked along the "Royal Mile" and stopped off in a couple of souvenier shops. I bought three wools scarves, and a Scotland flag shirt for myself for only 3 pounds! It was a kids shirt, but it fit! We also stopped off in the Whiskey museum/factory where they had every bottle of whiskey you could ever imagine. Amazing. Brett and I went to the Scottish Museum where we played around in "high tech" exhibit. My favorite part of the exhibit was to see "Dolly" the cloned sheep, stuffed and mounted on a spinning platform. I took a picture. Poor Dolly. There was also an explanation about cloning and genetics which I found very interesting. The last thing we saw was the Ape exhibit. Digging for termites was a big hit with me, also playing with a computer program that takes you pictures and morphes your face with different kinds of Apes. I looked best as a Chimp. That night we experinced "A Taste of Scotland" which was a little cheesy, but fun. They served Haggis, not as our main course, but just a taste. It wasn't bad, but I didn't eat all of it.

Friday- We sadly left Edinburgh. I wish we had more time. But, we were off to the Lake District by Keswick. First stop, Melrose Abby. It was very quick, only 15min. Still pretty to look at. We then went to Hadrian's wall. It was a Roman ruin fort, which, we climbed all over. It was a hike to get to, but wonderful to see. After, we finally made our way to the youth hostel where we were going to stay the night. When all of us got checked in, we went on a two hour hike on the footpaths. We climbed fences, rocks, and steep hills. Beautiful scenery. Lots of sheep. I'm not kidding. They came out of no where. After our long hike, we came back and swam in the cold cold river. Well, only 7 of us(Brett, Maureen, Meredith, Ashely, Candice, Rosa, and I) got in the water. At least we earned our 20p from John Rose. Oh, and a signed postcard. I just framed it. It's now on my wall. We then proceeded to eat dinner at the hostel and work on our "skits" for our last night in England.

Saturday- In the morning, we left the Lake District, and most of the sheep. One of our stops for the day was Dove Cottage, where William Wordsworth lived. We toured his house and museum. Then I went to a small cafe and had tea. Next stop, the Bronte house. It was where, Charlotte, Ann, Emily, Bradshaw, and thier father lived till most of them died of TB. It was sad to learn that thier father outlived all of them. Our last and final destination was Frodsham, outside of Manchester. That night we stayed in a hotel, where most of us enjoyed the pool, the steam room with eucalyptus, a sauna, and of course a hot tub. It was a great way to relax and get ready for the trip home.

I was not ready to leave. I had become so accustom to living life in England, and loving it, that I didn't want to come back. Now, that I am back in the States however, I do realize how much I have missed all of my friends, but not my general routine. I'm always looking for change... and I found it in England. I hope to re-visit and even travel farther into Europe sometime soon. I will be going to Madagascar with my friend Nicky, and maybe I will finally make it to Italy. I mean, 3rd try has to be a charm right?

I'm not saying I didn't appreciate everything that I have been able to do, I do appreciate it greatly. I just have a thirst for more. And I want to take the initiative to do more. So I will. Thank you all for reading my journals, I hope I didn't bore you too much. :) Thanks again!

(no subject)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Well, I have gone through my third week here in England with flying colors, but I can feel myself fading. There is just so much to do and so much to get done before I come home! I wish we had just oh two more weeks here... or longer. Well, here's the update!

Monday- I spent at least an hour after class that morning trying to figure out plans for Ireland... but that fell through. We waited too long. Later on we went BACK to Westminster, where I have been spending every breathing second of my life, to sit in on the House of Lords Gallery. That night we also had to go to the Portacullus House and sit and listen to two MP's (Charlotte Atkins and Donald Foster). After Charlotte, our whole class rushed back to the Houses to sit in on yet another Lords Gallery. I skipped this one cause I had done it before class. After a long day of PARLIAMENT, Brett and I decided to take Maureen to the Players Lounge!! It was a bar discovered by us back in January. All the actors from the surrounding plays come there for a drink or two. We ate a starter and had a few drinks. It was lovely.

Tuesaday- I was on my own. I was actually quite productive! I went to the National Gallery where I saw paintings from Monnet, Rembrant, and the Arnolfini Protrait by Jan Van Eyke. Dr. Mulvany had explained a lot of the symbolism in the painting back in January, and I just thought I would revisit it. It has significace in the Da Vinci Code. After the Gallery, I hiked on over to the British Museum. I again re-toutched on some exhibits I had seen before. I was very interesting in the new exhibit they were showing. It's Modern Art in the Middle East. Very very cool stuff.

Wed- I chilled. At 4pm our group had ice cream with the nuns! It was fantastic! Yummy ice cream too! Rosa dazzled us with her singing, and so did Alviro! He was a painter on campus who was really and actor and now he's in New York auditioning for NINE. Fabulous life! That night was also went BACK to the Portacullus house to visit with two more MP's! Tim Boswell and Baroness Foux!

Thursday- Craziness. Brett and I stayed for the BBQ lunch. It was a great deal. You could get 2 entrees with 2 sides for £3.30. I ate a lot. We also stopped an conversed with a few of the painters and workers on campus. One of them thought I was 12!!! I had to confirm I was 22!! Gah. As if I don't get enough of that when I go to the bars... Anyway, that day I set out for the National Portrait Gallery. Well, Brett went too. I loved the hall of the Beatles. After we ate a Bella Italia where Brett introduced me to LIMONCHELLO! Great stuff.
That night Brett, Meredith, Rosa, and I went out with Alviro. Candice met up with us too. We eneded our night at the Cuban dance club down the street from Maria Assumpta. Had a wonderful time.

Friday- Saw the Tower of London again... and the British Museum.

Saturday- Went to Stratford upon Avon with Brett and Maureen. Saw Shakespeare's Birthplace, where he lived, where his son-in-law lived, and where he is now burried. We were caught in a downpour!

Sunday- Went to Stonehenge, Devises, and Aveberry. Walked around Stonehenge, cause we were not allowed to toutch or even be near the rocks. I took a lot of pictures, and learned a lot about the stones. Stonehenge actually means "stones that hinge" ot "hinged stones". We stopped off in Devises which was 15 min. away from Stonehenge for some lunch. Then we were off again to Avebarry which was wonderful! It's a town with rock "circles" or formations kinda like Stonehenge but it's more spread out and well... it's less well known. Atleast that was what the tour guide told us, but there were a fair amount of people there. These stones we got to feel and climb on. There were also a sheep!! I got to pet the sheep!! I;m still bummed that we didn't make it to Mary Areden's house in Stratford... there were chickens I could have pet at her house.

All in all things are great. Just a lot of work to get done before I leave. Thanks for reading. One more one or 2 more updates will come. Thanks!

Week 2 7/10-7/15

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Here is another update on what progress I have made this last week :)

Monday- Everyone attended the Parliament tour. We left at 8:15 in the morning, and arrived for the tour around 9. Our tour guide took us through the House of Common, the House of Lords, and even elaborated on some information we had learned earlier in class. Westminster Hall was under renovation so we could not see it... well we kinda did through plastic. Anyway, after that Maureen, Meredith, Brett, and I went to Westminster Abby. The "Poets Corner" was by far the best. We saw Chaucer's burial site, a memorial to Shakespeare, and a plaque to Jane Austin. We tried to find Issiac Newton, but failed. What bothered me about the Abby was anyone could walk on a gravestone, and wear away the name of that person. It was sad, cause I couldn't even read some of them. After Westminster, Brett and I set out for the Cabinet War Rooms and the Churchill Mueseum. We had been there before, but wanted to spend more time in it. The Churchill Museum was by far the most interactive place I have ever been to. It's hands on education. I could toutch a screen and ask questions while getting all this interesting info about Winston Churchill. My favorite was the projected card game, one card would ask the audience and question, and another card would answer it. Very cool stuff.

Tuesday- I beleive we went back to Parliament to attend a House of Commons select meeting. It was a hassle trying to figure out where Room 12 was and if the meeting we were going to was public or private. Gah. Ok, my brain froze and I can't think of anything else I did this day... hmm. I will update later. OH YEAH! That night we saw "Fool for Love" with Julliet Lewis. After the show we hung around the stage door and got everyone's autograph.

Wed- Went back to Parliament for a House of Commons standing committe meeting. We tried to get to a House of Lords meeting, but they had all been in the morning. So, we aimed for a gallery meeting, but that feel though as well... but for a good reason. As we were sitting on the benches to be let into the gallery, the "bell" rang which ment everyone had to rush for a vote. They were voting on extraditing three Americans who were involved in the Enron scandal.

Thursday- The whole group traveled to Canterbury and Broadstead. We toured Canturbury cathedral while a graduation was taking place. I was amazed by the "Black Prince" tomb, also very creeped out by the crypt on the cathedral. Broadstead was a nice little town by the coast of the English Channel. Maureen, Brett, and I were the only one's with bathing suits, and the only one's with John Rose who ventured into the water. It was freezing, and there was a lot of seaweed, but it was worth it! We swam for a good 20 minutes. After that we enjoyed a nice "cuppa".

Friday- Spent a good amount of the day stressing about planning for Ireland. Nuff said.

Saturday- Slept in till 9:30! YES! Brett and I went to Holland park and ate sandwhiches from M&S. After that, ventured out to Portabello Road where I bought a Phrenology head!!! Something to decorate my future office with. It was only 3 pounds. I also bought a vintage looking dress for 15 pounds. It actually fits me! Portabello Road is an anitque market. After this shifted on over to Leiscter square to catch a a 4pm showing of " The Woman in Black". Very scary. Very good. I loved it. It was amazing what only three actors and a limited stage set could do! Using your imagination was the key! Absolutly fabulous!! After the show, we stopped by Covent Garden. This is another market, but more like a fruit and veggie kind of place.

Sunday- Went to St. Paul's for Sunday service. We had a Woman preist today from Scotland! Her name is The Venerable Cathy Thompson. I beleive I even took communion from her! That was exhilarating!! Later on in the day I toured the Apsley house. It located by Hyde Park. The Duke of Wellington really loved to collect works of art, even paintings of Napolean, ironically. After the house, Brett and I went to Hyde Park and chilled for a while. Sat in the grass and ate ice cream. We watched people rollerblade and ride bikes. I didn't see many children though. And now, I am here. At the internet cafe typing to you.

* Correction for last weeks post! The name of the actor who plays Dumbldore and who was in the play "Eh Joe" is named Micheal GAMBON not Gibson. I blame my keyboard for that mistake. This keyboard is crazy. :)

I love you and miss you all!! Thank you for reading!!
